Brilliant start to the week for me i must say -_-
got to work early, but forgot to take my keys so didn't have a uniform to change into. then my phone karked it and has now officially died. several frantic phonecalls later a set of keys arrives and i have about two minutes to get changed and start work. managed to make it in time.
work passed by relatively boringly, though a visit from christian was nice, we chatted about random stuff for a while then he headed off and i finished up work. got changed alright and signed out fine, but then train got canceled and had to wait for another one in about 20 mins. it eventually arrived but i had to put up with bloody drunks who kept trying to pick a fight with me and a few other passengers. alighted the train at malvern only to be followed by said drunks. proceeded to deck said drunks. got a new pocket knife from said drunks.
so the day started out crap but finished up relatively well, i got a new pocket knife after all.
also found a couple of really old prosey things that i posted on devart for the sake of it, seeing as i haven't posted in ages.
oh and my stuff from the megatokyo store finally arrived, thusly my geek clothing range is expanded.
hopefully the rest of the week is as eventful as today, though with less leaving of keys. ^_^;; |

just got home from a night out clubbing with sammy and friends. fuck it was awsome.
my neck and shoulders are killing me from moshing all night, but it was definately worth it cause i haven't had this much fun in ages.
so cheers to sammy, sarah and the rest for making it a kick arse night, i'll definately be doing it more often. |

well...several today infact.
First was seeing Annelise(sp) at the mall-doohickey on collins st... i decided to have satay beef noodles from the cool little noodle bar down there, when she happened to apperate right beside me and rather awkwardly say hello...i would probably have been more responsive if i hadn't been hungry and waiting for noodles...anyhoo, she disapperated rather quickly and awkwardly...and my satay noodles tasted funny...probably an unrelated thing.
Second was seeing Chris Chalmers again...haven't seen him in aaaages, so it was cool to catch up and do the usual "what, where, who and how much" questionnaire with him. and my Powerade tasted funny as well...again probably unrelated.
Third was finding out how utterly cool a car GPS is...i bought one and it is "teh bomb".

darn, i finally was unable to fix a computer. i've been stumped by technology! i've lost my geekiness! NOOOOOOOOooooooooooo.......

i've decided i'm going to buy a sandman. for those of you not in the know, a sandman is a model of holden panel van from around the 70's, it was very popular with the surf scene due to the large space in the back for mattresses and basically living out of, hence the other name for the sandman; the 'shagin wagon'.
i'll probably pick it up as soon as i can sell off my current car to whomever wants to buy it.
but other than ambitions for a pimped out sandman, not much is happening and it sucks. life is on the crappy part of the rollercoaster ride where it's a straight area before all the fun stuff. me and maxine are still together, if it can be called that. i hardly see her at all mostly cause of work, and when i'm free, she's not. and it's killing me a little each time i can't see her, cause i love her to death. i know a little of how budgie feels now i spose =/
meh, enough of being down, i'm getting a shiteload of cash in this weeks pay so i'll be spending up! and by spending up i mean paying my bills and putting most of it away for the china trip =/

they had to stick the new guy on the degraves street exit of flinders didn't they?
i get why it's called 'degraves' now...it's a literal graveyard...after the rush hour no one goes down there...plus it's cold and smells funny...
hence i'm loving working there ^_^
as for 'it'...well they let her out of hospital, diagnosed as an attention seeking brat. so i was right about that part of it. how do i know? maxine swung past this morning to visit me after she'd just finished up a syn shift with 'it'. at least 'it' behaved 'it's' self while in the vicinity of flinders street...i called in some AO's^ just in case she decided to be stupid again, but the morning passed without incident.
so far so good...the job is quite enjoyable...and it looks like i'll be in degraves for the rest of the week from what i'm told.
oh and max* bought me a samurai sword...
it's teh coolz...

so i was right, sarah finally got carted away...
for those of you not in the know, sarah is a person who is the dictionary definition of emo; complete with angsty lesbian rage and listening to german comedy-techno-death-metal (aka rammstein). this 'it' decided to attach itself to maxine as a 'friend'...
last night, maxine finally stopped caring (thank god) about the emo and called an ambulance to take it away after it smashed several CD's and plaster walls at the SYN studio.
ambo's came along and of course had to take it due to it's suicidal tendancies (thank god for inane laws). of course it didn't want to go, so the police were called as back up, the police rocked up, the police flashed the lights, it ran straight to the ambos and decided she didn't want to be arrested.
i am not sure if shes still in hospital or not, and i don't particularly care.
as for the rest of the night, it was relatively quiet, mostly with sleeping and such.
PS. i loathe most emos.
PPS. i call sarah, 'it', because it fails at life so very horribly.

well today was the second day of my training with connex (that's the company that runs the trains in melbourne for those of you not in the know). and i must say, the job so far has been pretty fucking awsome.
basically my job involves standing at the station barriers assisting customers with directions, ticketing and where to find good coffee at 8 in the morning.
the upsides of this job are:
- it's piss easy
- i can listen to music discreetly (god bless huge overcoats and longish hair :P )
- i get free trains, trams and buses to anywhere in victoria!
- i get my own locker and office and keys!
- awsome pay rate (just over 17 bucks an hour)
the downsides:
- early starts (at least 4 or 5 am for some shifts)
- shit coffee (hence i have to buy good coffee)
- fortnightly pay (means i gotta budget)
so the upsides are far greater than the downsides...plus i'm makin a ton of money to boot!
life is coasting along nicely at the moment, hopefully it'll stay that way. |

Dracula's is offically the best place ever. kudos to jess for a brilliant idea on where to go for a birthday. If i could afford it i would become a regular there due to the awsome booze and great..err...show *cough*.
As usual a relatively quiet birthday in all, just not big on celebrating my own birthday really, not sure why.

Had another SYN shift this morning (thursday morning). and while i felt that it wasn't too bad a show, it was just a bit too crowded to work properly. don't get me wrong i enjoy the company of everyone who attended, it's just that with so many people in the studio (6) we end up with too many clashing music styles, everyone talking over the top of each other, and the timings of transitions in the show just being a little bit out. it also gets incredibly warm and stuffy in there with that many people.
optimally 3-4 people is perfect for a show, preferably if their music tastes are all reasonably similar. 3-4 also provides a good ratio of people to microphones, and is the right amount of people for equipment management meaning that no one gets left doing nothing and getting bored.
the actual purpose of my being there was to train up monkey and jess, which i think we managed to achieve so timing is now just a matter of practice.
the biggest concern i had though was all the different music styles. granted SYN probably doesn't have the greatest listening base from 2am to 7am but playing such different styles and jumping around the musical spectrum as much as we did, left the show sounding just a little off and probably tuned out a lot of listeners. it's helpful to have only a couple of styles of music for the show so as to keep the already set fan base that we have.
so other than the studio being a little too crowded for my perceptions of comfort, the show went OK. not exceptional, but OK. |

Bleh...i'm sick as a dog at the moment.
stupid sister and her contagious colds of d00m!
had to work today, so i shambled around KMart for three and a bit hours looking like a zombie...managed to avoid doing too much work. came home and slept for a bit, but can sleep no longer so am now writing a journal.
being sick sucks.
company we (me and matty) were going to go to china with turned out to be dodgey bastards, so we found a new company to go with.
the plan is officially;
- work this year to save money for flights
- spend next year (2007) in china teaching english
- come back (2008) and work some more
- go to japan to teach english (2009)
- come back and do a teaching course to become all teachery and stuff...sah
well that's my plan anyway...so far the first two steps are definately happening, everything else after that is all hypothetical... |

Wow, talk about a tailspin a the moment.
i was planning on going to the Motor show with maxxy on valentines, but i've had to cancel that plan due to lack of funding. infact that's pretty much a common theme at the moment. lack of funding.
i'm struggling to keep up at the moment, between phone bill's, car payments, debts, passports, flights, fuel and basic living, i'm just plain not earning enough to keep myself.
it sucks more because of the nature of casual work, i don't get the shifts i need to pay for life, and when i do it takes me away from the life i'm trying to pay for.
so yeah, you'll have to excuse me if i am a little snappy with people over the next couple of months, but it's just me struggling to live.
i'm just happy i have max, because she's the one constant thing in life and i dunno what i'd be like without her. well actually i do, and i'd rather not be that way.

Well another bloody successful radio shift got done this morning, and great fun it was too. it was definately one of our better shows thanks to the fact that we had iPods from Monkey, Jess, Claire and Emma not to mention a shitload of CD's, so we were pretty much covered for music
Once again we got told to go for a regular show, and they now have all of us on standby call to cover graveyards in case no one else shows to do them. also a bonus as i love doing these things despite the tiredness that comes later.
Max went away for a few days but i'll deal, i have Gran Turismo 4 to distract myself with for a little while, then might see about borrowing Tony Hawks and/or FF:X off Jess to amuse myself with for a little longer, at least until Max get's back...
so yeah...more radio randomness soon i'm hoping.
